About
Austin-based artist Drew Passafiume creates diverse art forms, specializing in studio art, live painting, mural art, and custom artisan woodwork. He began his art career in his hometown of Birmingham, Alabama. There, he has completed several permanent skyline murals, including a 4000 sq ft commission at Hop City that led to Drew carrying his art across state lines, into Tennessee and beyond. Recently, he realized a larger-than-life mural depicting a Kraken bursting forth from a wood-clad wall. Throughout the last decade, he has honed his unique portraiture style, giving life and movement to the musicians that inspire him. The psychedelic shadows featured in Drew’s portraits conjure the third eye, questioning the nature of the cosmic fabric that moves his subjects. This style has sprung from Drew’s devout concert attendance over the last two decades. When he is not creating, the artist enjoys crafting his own musical skill while also learning from the artistry found in nature. On an off-day, you may find him scaling a random building façade, scrambling up a tree, or tightrope walking over a river.
